“I’ve visualized this. I’ve already visualized the next step. We’ll see how it all plays out. But you’ve got to be a little bit of a dreamer to make it all come true.”
The above quote was from Joe Maddon, Chicago Cubs Manager, after his team won a playoff series last night against the St. Louis Cardinals. The win marks the first playoff series the team has ever won at Wrigley Field.
It took 100 years, and 7,907 games to accomplish that moment.
To put it into more context, when the Chicago Cubs moved into Wrigley, the hamburger bun had just been invented.
The reason why this quote is compelling is because Maddon, one the greatest managers in recent baseball history, dreams big and inspires his players to dream big. Then he and them work together and do everything they can to achieve their goals.
Maddon visualized his success. He visualized the moment. Visualization helps to make our big dreams come closer into reach – they become more attainable.
What are you going to visualize accomplishing today?
