Question: WOULD YOU TRY THIS PRODUCT?
Pavlok is one-button wristband. When you are about to do something that is a bad habit, such as break your diet, you push the button and it sends a “safe and harmless ‘zap’ of electricity on your wrist.”
The idea is that the shock of electricity, or the “unpleasant element,” as described by Pavlok, will stop your brain from desiring and craving any unwanted bad habit.
Pavlok also has an alarm feature and a Google Chrome feature for when you start to wander on the Internet and lose productivity (hopefully this post is not a sign of me being unproductive).
I believe that our ability to understand habit formation is one of the most fundamental keys to improving our lives and taking more personal control of ourselves. Habits become hard-wired into our brains, and over time, become very difficult to break. They impact our health, our financial freedom, relationships (personal and professional), and our overall productivity. Most people have to exercise tremendous amounts of will-power to break habits, such as bad eating, smoking, etc.
Is this a method you would use to help break a habit, and form new and better habits? Does the idea scare or repulse you?
Would you try it?
